acupressure

I’m currently offering online acupressure consultations, which include a video consultation and a follow up email with an acupressure point guide. This will be unique to you, and based upon my usual traditional diagnosis for specific issues and any relevant Chinese medical advice or nutritional / lifestyle guidance.

Acupressure utilizes the same points and medical theory used in acupuncture.

In acupressure, using your hands and fingers, pressure is applied to specific points on the body instead of the insertion of an acupuncture needle. The pressure stimulates the nervous system and creates blood flow which in turn helps the body’s biomechanics to function properly and allow the body to heal itself.

Along with symptoms subsiding, you will feel a peaceful nourishing relaxation similar to when you receive acupuncture. Due to it’s excellent results, acupuncturists will even use acupressure in their clinics on children, patients with highly sensitive nervous systems, and occasionally on those afraid of needles. Once you learn point locations appropriate for your symptoms you’re able to stimulate them throughout the day for relief.

Acupuncture will have a deeper more permanent effect on your nervous system but acupressure is very beneficial for your immune, physical, and mental health during this time of social distancing.

For the science minded, here’s a great study that affirms its benefit in a variety of medical cases: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3154967/

Compassionate Inquiry

Last year it was my privilege to train with Dr Gabor Maté. Gabor is a doctor with a background in general practice and a special interest in childhood development and trauma and their potential lifelong impacts on physical and mental health, including on autoimmune disease, cancer, ADHD, addictions, anxiety, depression and a wide range of other conditions.

Gabor has put together a training program called Compassionate Inquiry, a powerful synthesis of multiple psychotherapeutic approaches for healing trauma and understanding mental and physical illness.

This style of talking therapy allows for exploration of core issues in order to gain insight, heal, and move into sustainable recovery from self-defeating patterns.

I’m currently offering Zoom calls using this technique and sessions can be booked here. If you would like to find out more please contact me. If you’re struggling financially and can’t afford my standard rate do get in touch and we can discuss further options.

After booking you’ll receive a booking confirmation email, which will include a link to take you through to the remote meeting room on Zoom.

Fertility Optimisation

Having guided women through their fertility journeys successfully for several years, I’ve taken my practice online and am offering remote sessions to discuss how you can optimise your fertility, and be in the best health to start trying to conceive, or begin your IVF process.

Data shows that lifestyle factors – including diet, stress, sleep and mindset – all have a significant impact on your menstrual cycle and your overall fertility.

Furthermore, egg health stems from the state of our body retrospectively by about 90 days, so if you are waiting for to start IVF, it’s ideal to start putting changes in place beforehand, so as to be in the best possible health when your IVF cycle starts.

During the one on one remote session, I’ll take a full consultation and draw up a diagnosis from a Chinese Medicine perspective. We’ll look at diet and I’ll provide nutritional information, specifically tailored to you, information on acupressure points you can do at home, pre-conception care, exercise habits and general lifestyle advice in order to achieve good health and an optimal menstrual cycle. We’ll talk about ways to reduce and manage your stress levels and I’ll be on hand to provide support on both an emotional and physical level.

Ready to discuss how you can enhance your fertility? book a session now.
